Summary: It’s been almost six months since the Miranda and Andrea came hurtling back into each other’s lives. They thought the battle was almost over, no, it’s only just started.
A/N: This is the second part of the Corruption, Purity and Desire Series. We left the last part on quite a cliff-hanger, or what I would like to think of as an exciting season end (whilst I sorted my life out!). We’re back on track now and the muse has her foot on the gas so here goes…
A/N2: This short prologue is currently unbeta’d, so all mistakes are mine.
The early morning summer-sun streamed rebelliously through the gaps in the Venetian blinds as Beatrice Sharpe dressed for the day. She pulled up the zipper on her skirt as silently as the act would allow and reached for the fresh blouse, which hung over the wardrobe door. The sleeping figure in her bed stirred lightly as the shirt hanger clicked against the wooden door, and she couldn’t help but smile at the peaceful expression on the face of her friend and lover.
It had been a long and treacherous road. There had been many sleepless nights over the past few months but they had final made it, today was the first day of the trial.
A day which would be harder for some than others.
The scalding water beat down on her face, washing away the free flowing tears. The constant stream thundered in her ears but failed to silence the raging thoughts that swirled in her mind. The heat of the water caused the healed scars on her chest and ribs to burn an angry shade of pink, but the pain felt good. It reminded her that she was alive.
Andrea’s hand formed a fist and pounded against the tiled wall. Once, twice, three times, stopping instantly as she felt a pair of familiar arms envelope her body from behind.
“Shhhh.” The voice breathed into her ear. “It’s ok, I’m here.”
Andrea felt the fight leave her body as she relaxed into Miranda’s comforting arms. After a few moments of unquestioning solace, the arms released her and allowed her turn around.
She looked deep into the Sapphire blue eyes as the water crashed around them. “When will this be over?” Andrea begged sorrowfully.
“Soon my love, I promise. Today, we begin to take our justice.”
