A/N: If you haven’t already, I would suggest you read part one before proceeding. I would love to know your thoughts, so comments would be great!!!

Beta: The one and only punky_96 !!! I've got nothing but love for you bb!

It’s only half past the point of separation

Andy POV

I said I would love you forever and I meant it.

Now I feel that the promises of tomorrow were just a fantasy, a fractured line on the horizon.

I said I wouldn’t let your demons pull you down, that I would scare the darkness away. I tried, but the fires that licked and burned my soul were too much to bear. I wish I could pinpoint the moment it all began to slip.

If only I knew that you were fighting them with me—to throw that stone and watch the ripples flow—I could be stronger. Love can stand a thousand trials; the strong will never fall.

I gave you the choice, it’s all or nothing. The last words were a broken plea. Darling, it’s all or nothing, I can’t take the lies anymore.

My Achilles heel, why don’t you end this? Tell me how you finally feel. Should you ever call, I will be waiting…

It’s only half past the point of surrender

Miranda POV

I never thought that someone like her could ever care for me. One night alone can seem like a year without her.

Those mornings, when I wake up with her lying next to me, I know that there is nothing else in the world that I'd rather wake up and see.

There were whispers in my head, the doubt and fear snapping at our heels. I found myself listening to them; she really didn’t stand a chance.

I have done it again. I have been here many times before, yet this regret I’m still not accustomed to. So many words I would take back. I didn't mean to make her leave.

Engraved in my mind there is a picture of her by my side, the way I dreamed it would be...eventually. My fear pushed her away, but now I see clearly and I want it to be real.

Pride can stand a thousand trials; the strong will never fall.

I feel my heart heave as I dial her number. I know it’s now or never.

“Have you made your choice?” Andy had rehearsed those cold words a thousand times in her head, only to be betrayed by the lump in her throat when she finally spoke them.

Miranda swung her chair to face the window, away from prying eyes.

“Tell me it’s not too late.” Miranda whispered into the phone as the tears rolled down her face. “I love you. I don’t want to hide it anymore.”

The silence on the line seemed to last an eternity. “Andrea?” Miranda begged. Miranda felt her heart stop as the line went dead, as if someone had reached into her chest and ripped it out. She was too late.

Miranda didn’t know how long she had been sat there when she heard the ruckus from the outer office.

“Oh my god, what do you think you’re doing! Do you have a death wish?” The clipped British tones of her highly-strung, first assistant snapped Miranda out of her daze.

A breathless Andrea stood in the outer office. Miranda rose from behind her desk and walked to the doorway.

“You hung up on me.” Miranda stated. Andy was envious of Miranda’s ability to deliver a deadly tone without fail, regardless of the situation.

“How many times have I told you to get the cell reception fixed in those elevators?” Andy quipped. Miranda felt her heart tug again as Andrea's smile lit up the room. It wasn't too late.

Emily froze like a deer in headlights, gripped by the surreal scene unfolding before her.

Staring into each others’ eyes the world around them disappeared. Miranda reached out her hand, beckoning Andrea forward. “It will be different this time.” Miranda promised.

Andy fell into Miranda arms. The familiar scent enveloped her senses and she knew she was exactly where she wanted to be. “I know it won’t be easy. But I promise never leave your side again.”

A universe of time passed as they continued to stare into each others' eyes, completely oblivious to their audience. Miranda smiled warmly and placed her lips gently against Andrea's.

“It’s time.” Andy stated softly as she pulled back.

Miranda nodded and turned to a mortified Emily. “Arrange an urgent meeting with Leslie and her PR team. Oh and Emily? Impersonating a guppy is quite unbecoming!”

~~~ End ~~~
Oh how marvelous! The last time I looked this didn't have all of those words! Look at you, you clever genius!
I humbly apologize for the beta delay... I will endeavor to be better :)
I liked the subtle changes from last time until now. Excellent indeed. And the change up at the end was really fantastic. I liked that they were moving forward but the part with Andrea saying it's time and Miranda moving forward without any further hesitation!?! That was, what is it you say? ACE. Yes, that was ACE.
And of course... dear sweet Emily defending the lair from the evil do good-er Andrea Sachs only to find out that Miranda was sleeping with the enemy! Fantastic! (Hmm. Maybe you should do a drabble from Emily's POV called that? Sleeping With The Enemy... It has crack written all over it :)) (Hmmm. Can you tell what I'm thinking... Anyway, we'll talk...)
Oh wait no. No crack for you! You simply must work on CP&D!
Punky out :)
How can you be a better beta when you are already ACE? Will there be some kind of naked/Semi naked dancing thrown in? If so I'd sign up for that!
I wasn't happy with the original ending, I read it over and over and just thought BLAAAAH. Then I gave myself a good telling off and hopefully it has turned out for the better.
No crack for me? But I love crack bb!?! My mind is now ticking along with Emily crack possibilities! But I promise, DWP v's DEBS and CP&D come first!
You rock my world!
punkstalker out!
Wonderful. So hard to fight off demons and fears to get what we want from life. Well done. Thank you.
